It gets really messy while I'm working on a project but can be cleaned up in no time, thanks to a system of "drop baskets". Every item has a specific drop basket that it goes into, according to item. I have a paper drop, a small materials drop, and a basket where I toss errant balls of yarn. You can go back later and put the items in their designated spots.
