Cap Update and a Welcome.......

I have a reader from West Roxbury, Mass who's shown up a couple of times- I'm amazed because I wanted to subtitle this blog: "If you're reading this, you're probably my sister." Usually the only person who shows up in my Feedjit is....ME!

This is the pattern I've been working from. It's very basic but I  did find it in Itty Bitty Hats so I have to give them credit for it. I have posted the inst for a newborn size.
I used baby yarn and a size 3 16" circular to start. When I got to my dec rows I put half the stitches on another circular, but the inst call for dpns. It's your call - I've even put the stitches on a 9" circular.
These inst are very bare-bones. Let me know if you have a question, or go to the store and buy Itty Bitty Hats. It's a great resource!
gauge: 5 st/inch

CO 64 st.
Join yarn, work 5 1/2" in in st stich
Decrease rounds:
1. *knit 6st, knit 2 tog*
2. *knit 5, knit 2 tog*
3. knit all sts.
4. Change to DPNS or to two circulars. *knit 4 sts, knit 2 tog*
5. Knit all sts.
6. *knit 3 sts, knit 2 tog*
7 and 8 : Knit all around
9. *knit two st, knit 2 tog*
10. knit all sts
11.* Knit 1 st, knit 2 tog*
12. *knit 2 st tog*
"Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-in tail and thread through yarn needle. Thread each stitch onto the yarn needle and off the knitting needle. Pull tail through remaining sts, pull tightly to close the ring. Secure the yarn inside the hat by weaving in ends."
