Cap Update and a Welcome.......

I have a reader from West Roxbury, Mass who's shown up a couple of times- I'm amazed because I wanted to subtitle this blog: "If you're reading this, you're probably my sister." Usually the only person who shows up in my Feedjit is....ME!
So - whoever you are - you are welcome and I'm flattered. Thanks for reading. Now pick up your needles and make a baby cap!
This is the pattern I've been working from. It's very basic but I  did find it in Itty Bitty Hats so I have to give them credit for it. I have posted the inst for a newborn size.
I used baby yarn and a size 3 16" circular to start. When I got to my dec rows I put half the stitches on another circular, but the inst call for dpns. It's your call - I've even put the stitches on a 9" circular.
These inst are very bare-bones. Let me know if you have a question, or go to the store and buy Itty Bitty Hats. It's a great resource!

Caps for Good Deadline Feb. 28

I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and try to make as many hats as possible before the deadline. If you care to join me, let me know! This is a good opportunity to use up spare yarn, since a baby cap takes such small yardage.
I'm snowed in today again ("Wen-DEEEEEEEEEEEEE!") so I am going to try to churn out at least one little hat.
This website has some info. Caps for Good
My craft room post was a little sparse, so I included a link to 2peas where I have some more photos.
Thanks for looking.
I'm going to search for a counter I can use to keep track of cap production - yours, included!
Thanks for reading.

I have lots more pictures at the above link, and go into a little more detail.

My Creative Space

This is my hideout. I love being here and I love tweaking it.
I like unique storage items, like these little spice drawers I got at Liquidation World.
It gets really messy while I'm working on a project but can be cleaned up in no time, thanks to a system of "drop baskets". Every item has a specific drop basket that it goes into, according to item. I have a paper drop, a small materials drop, and a basket where I toss errant balls of yarn. You can go back later and put the items in their designated spots.
